Our latest tee from the past is a revival of Frontier Village — San Jose’s answer to Disneyland. Frontier Village was a western-themed amusement park that opened in 1961. It was located on Monterey Rd and Branham Lane, and took up nearly a third of the Hayes Mansion estate. It featured rides and attractions with names like, Lost Frontier Mine Ride, Kittyhawk, and Apache Whirlwind. There were trains, saloons, a main street arcade, a green gorilla named Kactus Kong, and so much more.
